LISTEN, he meant your TV not PS5. You can't edit or delete your questions on here which I think is not right, but let me state some facts...
I own a PS5 and I have made 3 YouTube videos that proves the PS5 will not go over 60fps and in some cases just over 30fps if you don't have a TV that supports HDMI 2.1
Over 90% of TV's don't have this tech, so if you think for one second you're getting the best frames and picture you better go do some more research.
I repeat: If you don't have a TV that supports 2.1 you can kiss your dreams goodbye if you think you'll get 120fps in 4K.
Only a couple TV's out there support 2.1 and I bet anything most of you don't own them. 
Here's the deal... If you have a couple thousand dollars and some cost over five thousand, then you can purchase one. Otherwise stop trying to make fun of someone just because you are unhappy with yourself.
Kind of bad knowing you own a PS5 and can't see what it can really do.....

Name calling and thinking you're better than someone only proves you have no integrity.
Now go back to playing your PS4 because a new TV and PS5 is something you can't afford..

I wouldn't worry about 120 fps for now. However, if you truly want it get a 4k 144hz gaming monitor that has HDMI 2.1. Or a high end TV with hdmi 2.1. Usually a monitor will be better overall than a TV in most cases due to color gamut and latency Usually you want 5ms or less. I think you will start seeing more options in 2021 given the year we've all have had. Also don't expect 4k 120hz on ps5 to compete with a PC with latest video cards on the market. Most serious pc gamers run 1080p or 1440p with refresh rates well above 144hz. Nevertheless, it's nice to see this generation of console try to get closer to pc tech. I would think of the ps5 as a pc running a 2080 super. I will tell you my ps5 has been running cold war at a solid 4k 60 fps and has been really smooth. I have an Acer Predator XB273K Gpbmiipprzx monitor which is capable of 4k 144hz over 2 display ports on pc. It will not run over 60hz over hdmi 2.0 in my case. Hopefully next year I can upgrade to a second monitor with hdmi 2.1. Even when I do I do not expect a solid 4k 120hz experience my guess is a solid 90 fps with occasional spikes much like pc video cards. I hope with a ps5 update sometime next year they give us the ability to choose solid frame rate vs variable frame rate. I would rather lock my ps5 at 100hz (for example) than 100hz - 120hz fluctuations. Variable fps gives you the user the experience of choppy, laggy and glitchy game play. When video cards have a smoothness functionality (amd 6800xt anyone) they are talking about locking fps at a point that gives you best experience, which falls short of maximum fps but above 60 fps. Gaming at 90hz is better than jumping all around fps numbers. Hopefully, I made sense in long winded response.

ATTENTION!!! : to everyone out there looking for 120fps make sure your tv supports it. few tv's added it 2019 only some tv's in 2020 have HDMI 2.1. HDMI 2.1 is what your TV needs to support next gen consoles full capabilities. 

ATTENTION!!! #2: to every one looking to buy a new TV with HMDI 2.1. Make sure you research the tv as not all TV's with HDMI 2.1 have Full Bandwidth capabilities. Full Bandwidth HDMI 2.1 is 48 gbs. some TV's are capped at a lower Bandwidth. for example LG CX OLED's are capped at 40GB this will limit the data transfer from your PS5/XBSX
to your tv causing a Bottleneck. and will not be able to enjoy its full potential. Last years C9 OLED supports Full Bandwidth HDMI 2.1 but the new 2020 models do not. so make sure you are doing your homework on the TV your looking to buy.

Why is it that everyone is thinking of Tv's? People need to understand that the PS5 was built using a monitor and not a standard Tv. Going for a monitor with HDMI 2.1 compatibility is also recommended to get the most out of PS5 to be able to 'unlock' higher framerates and resolution. This will allow you to play 4K at 120hz, which is a great combination of both resolution and high framerates. You can get a 27" or larger monitor and get the max frame rates of 120fps.

simple answer to this question and simple facts.... most if not all affordable TVs run 60HZ and are only capable of 60 FPS if you want the most out of your PS5 buy a gaming monitor capable of 144+HZ refresh rate at 1080 or go very high end HDMI 2.1 4k monitor and you will get the 120FPS and awesome graphics with either option.

First off, your TV/Monitor has to be able to support 120hz refresh rate **natively** (Catch here is they can support 120hz @ 1080p). Secondly, you need to be using a HDMI 2.1 Cable. If you have **both** you should be getting those frames (varies on game optimization/performance). Perfect tv to go with the PS5 is well... the Sony X90K.

If you are looking to get a 120 refresh rate off an HDMI port, it MUST be 2.1 (supports 4k 120fps). If anyone needs to upgrade a tv, without breaking the bank, TCL is excellent. They have the same guts as the higher branded names on the market but don't hit you in your pocket. I have 2 TCLS (65" and 75") both supporting HDMI 2.1 ports. Give TCL a shot, because the issue isn't your console. also, the console does 8k at 60fps. Keep in mind, specific console games will also cap the fps, as to not give an advantage to another console. You are your own worst enemy based on your own equipment. if you want true 120+fps, build a gaming pc and use display ports.

In the next year or two, every new tv will have hdmi 2.1 so it's still a good investment to get a ps5. Also it will still boost the ps4 games you're playing now to be stable at 60fps so also worth it. True, the t.v's are the ones that decide such. The ps5 can go upto 120fps in 4K & 60fps in 8K according to what I've read(haven't yet ordered). But that's only possible if you have a compatible t.v/monitor. You can go to your displays settings & check if it allows this by looking for anything higher than 60hz at 4K(3840 x 2160). When it comes to displays, that's according to what I know cause I play on console & p.c. Though 4K at 120fps displays are currently expensive & rare to get, but if you're certain that it's higher than that such as 144hz or 250hz then idk.

In order to reach 120fps, you will need to either have a monitor or a really strong tv and then you will be able to reach 120fps, in fact, I have a PS5 connected to an LG ultrawide 4K 144Hrtz monitor and it works fine I guess you just need an upgrade.

Don't buy it until you read about this breaking story.

A few weeks ago, a German magazine "Heise" released a technical report indicating that 2020 model "HDMI 2.1" receivers made by Denon, Marantz, and Yamaha will show a "black screen" when a 4K120 or 8K60 signal is passed through. The cause? a chip set manufactured by Panasonic Solutions and globally used by all receiver manufacturers this year has a defect. No firmware upgrade is possible. Panasonic Solutions is a tiny part of Panasonic sold off long ago for the special patents used here.

Sadly, when other manufacturers of 2020 HDMI 2.1 receivers hit the stores (Sony for example) they will also have the issue.

Like what others have said, PS5 (and Xbox Series X) will be capable of displaying 4K resolution at 120fps (or Hz), because it will utilize HDMI 2.1. Here is the thing, many games that will be released for next-gen won't be optimized for 4K @ 120fps anyway, and not many monitors or TV out there are equipped with HDMI 2.1 yet to utilize the 120hz from a console machine (TV can still display 4K @ 120Hz with its own hardware). So the general public will still play at the most 4K @ 60fps, at least for now, until more TV and monitors with HDMI 2.1 becomes more frequent. The idea for these next-gen consoles (at least for now) is to play 4K @60fps consistently this is the feature that is missing on the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X. The issue isn't with the PS5, the issue is with the lack of TVs that support HDMI 2.1. Very few TVs out there even support HDMI 2.1, but are starting to ship with it as its a new/recent standard. The only TV I know of that will (not yet, but with updated firmware) support this is the Sony X900H.

Well my pc used a hdmi and did 144hz with my monitor and when i swtiched to 60hz it was a noticable difference

You are right when talking about HDMI 1.0. But the PS5 and Xbox Series X however use HDMI 2.1. this allows for 144Hz at 1440P / 120Hz at 4K / 60 at 8k. Please look it up before telling people they are lying.
