Contact Sony customer service. They will help talk you through how to fix it. Or replace it. I had a problem where I set it up to record on an SD card, yet it recorded on the internal memory instead. I called and they talked me through how to transfer from the internal memory to the SD card. The icon that was supposed to show up on the voice recorder did not. They said they would replace it. I just bought it and exchanged it at Best Buy. It is a great recorder!
