Great value - excellent mike and lots of memory!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I used a version of this Sony recorder for 20 years and still works. But I wanted the latest model with a much bigger internal memory AND I added a 32G micro-SD card. Lots of memory which may come in handy for capturing a long lecture or meeting. Memory is like closet space, one never had enough...but, with this recorder I've got plenty! Stereo built-in mike is excellent - great quality. And you can plug inan aux. microphone - just make sure you have one with the correct mini-plug. Glad to have this replacement for my older unit. - Instructions could be less complex but I figured out how to use. Online resource is well done.

easy to use
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this voice recorder! I have used it for over a year now and it was well worth the price. It is easy to use and works well. It holds a large amount of files before having to transfer or get rid of them, the batteries last a long time before needing to be replaced. It records voices well even when they are at a distance. It has a pause feature which is helpful. The speaker for playback isn't great but doesn't really matter because I use it to record and then transfer files and listen on other devices with better speakers. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a basic voice recorder to record lectures or whatever.

Q: QuestionI'm not real tech savvy. Retired not long ago and would like a voice recorder to start my adventure of writing a book. How long will battery's last? If I use the card to record , is it just for safe keeping or can it transfer onto my laptop?
Asked by Ann.
- A:Answer Hi Ann, The battery life can be last up to 62 hours depending on the type of recording. The memory card is always an option for back-up and additional memory. You always can transfer your recordings to a computer for safekeeping. Q: Questiondoes this device have the capability to transcribe to text on windows 10?
Asked by jr.
- A:Answer The device can't transcribe, but you can get the recording into windows through the USB. There are probably easier ways, but I used Microsoft Teams, opened a meeting with myself (meet now and just don't invite anyone else), shared my screen using the "share sound" button, turned on transcription, then played the file using Windows Media Player. It worked as well as MS Teams does to capture meeting notes.
