A:Answer I finally tore into my subwoofer to find out what the problem is. It started with just intermittent connection issues, flashing red like yours, eventually escalating to powering off at random.
Odds are, if you can't reconnect reliably, your speaker itself is going bad. The only visible sign of an issue mine had were brown singe marks on the negative speaker terminal, which was poorly connected to the wiring (it simply fell off the terminal with no effort when I pulled the speaker to check it.)
Quality control seems to be poor on this subwoofer, since both of the ones I ordered suffered the exact same failure, and you can't self service it without voiding the warranty, because the front panel is glued on.
Included pictures of the internals, and the subwoofer speaker terminal that seems to be the issue. Tossed mine in the trash after identifying the problem, as I clearly wont get any refund after tearing it down like this, but I needed to know what was the issue.
