Q: QuestionThis receiver started going into protect mode. Checked ventilation, powered off for a day and disconnected all speakers and it still goes into protect mode. I have had it just over a year with no issues and now it is completely useless.

Q: QuestionSTRDH590 for 1.5 yrs in the same config. Speakers turn off, briefly shows PROTECT and shuts off. Consistently after 10-20min. Checked all cables, reset sw via power button and unplugged for 30min, nothing attached. Still the same.

• A:Answer Hi Ken! thanks for your question, about the connections, unfortunately, this model does not have a PHONO IN for turntable connections, if you want to connect a turntable that only has a PHONO output jack, you need to connect a phono equalizer (not supplied) between the turntable and this receiver. I can suggest you to check this model STR-DH190 that has the PHONO IN for you to connect your turn table. • A:Answer Hi RichK, Thank you for your inquiry regarding our Sony products. The Sony SA-CS9 active subwoofer cannot be connected wirelessly to the STR-DH590 receiver. To connect the subwoofer, you will need an audio cable. Specifically, you should use an RCA cable to connect the active subwoofer to the Subwoofer Output on the receiver's jacks. It is designed for high quality 6 speaker single room stereo and theater surround use. If you choose to use an external speaker switching device be sure to contact Sony for compatibility as this setup may void your factory warranty, donno.
