“how many hours of FM recording? I would like to purchase this device to record a convention that will be transmitted over FM for the hearing impaired. I would like to take advantage and record the program for those that are unable to attend. How many hours of recording does the 8GB device support? Thanks.”

You can select a level of recording quality from [MP3 160kbps], [MP3 128kbps] or [MP3 96kbps]. The higher the level is, the more memory the player uses for recording sound. [MP3 128kbps] is set by default. the Music Storage Capacity for the NWZS544 is Approx. 7.1 GB (7,623,566,950 bytes) for a rule of thumb to give you an idea MP3s recorded at 128 kbps will give you 123 hr. 20 min. of storage it may differ for you depending on conditions, however at the time of recording it will state how many hours and minutes are left. The available remind time does not change if the remind time is more than 99 hours. it will read that until it falls below that time frame.
