• You use the format function when you want to erase all of the data or music or pictures off of your device. It will format it so you have a clean slate to start over if needed.

• You can reset the player to the default settings. Resetting the player will not delete data such as music, video, and photo data. From the [Home] menu, select [Settings] [Common Settings] [Reset all Settings] then [Yes]. [Restored factory settings.] appears. To cancel the operation, select [No] on the confirmation screen. as for sync. each time you connect your player to your computer you are synchronizing your entire music library to add or remove music.
