Bluetooth versions are backward compatible, which means that a device that supports Bluetooth is compatible with a device that supports a previous Bluetooth version. QuestionI have the Sony XB950BT and love how loud they are but the frame broke. I'm considering the WH-1000XM4, but am hesitant as I bought the WH-CH710N and returned them as they were not as loud. Anyone know if the XM4 are loud in comparison to the XB950BT?

QuestionMy main concern is BASS. I had the MDR-XB950N1 for about 4yrs and just SADLY lost em on a flight last month, they are AWESOME but not sold anymore so I'm looking to get this upgrade but I'm concerned about how good the BASS is. Does it have good bass?

It is also very effective at removing everyday ambient noise. The noise canceling function works primarily on noise in the low-frequency band such as vehicles and air conditioning. Although noise is reduced, it is not completely canceled. -Ralph

- Answer It will depend on which model TV and what the purpose is, however I can confirm a few things for you: Yes, it can connect via bluetooth to a Sony Bravia X950G TV, however you will need to play with the settings to get the audio to sync up more closely to the video. This is fine for something like TV/movie watching, however for gaming the sync will create a noticeable delay and your controller inputs would be off.

- Answer The noise-canceling on these is amazing. I don't know how loud the trucks can be but have flown on an airplane with these and I couldn't hear nearly anything.

- Answer Is it the same? No. Differences: No more aptX support (inc LL/HD). Bigger earcups, better shaped headrest for better comfort. Additional functionality - speak to chat, auto pause, etc. Auto pauses when it detects that you've taken it off your head, tones down ANC when speaking detected (does a pretty good job surprisingly!) More microphones for a better (slightly better over XM3) call quality. DSEE Extreme (gimmick, rarely used but at least it's an option for poorer quality files) They are indeed the same price. XM3s may drop in price from retailers (and they have) but the XM4s will retain the original XM3 MSRP.
