“why does the battery go out so quickly? i can have them "fully charged", turn them off completely, turn them back on less than 24 hours later & hear a "low battery" warning. others mention long battery life with heavy use, but i'm lucky to get 2 hours.”

I do not have this issue and have them in both colors maybe a faulty pair. I know thats not really an answer but maybe use your geek squad protection if you have it or the warranty offered by sony.
