QuestionI have a TMR-RF985RI think I need to replace the batteries. How? Where are they located in the unit? Where can I buy compatible batteries? When I Google my model all I get are batteries compatible with MDR-RF925. Will these work. I must say that going to the Sony website and typing in my model yields zero helpful information.

- Answer I don't see any way to open up the headphone unit to replace any batteries. Any battery system has to be in the headset to keep power for more than 16 hours continuous use. The base unit is plugged into A/C outlet.

- Answer They should work for anything that has audio out plugs normally marked L and R.

- Answer YES! This is me, the one who asked the question. I eventually purchased the item. Thanks to the people that send me answer BUT they are all wrong but one. Even the one from SONY. This headset is supplied with a dual voltage AC adapter, that means that it can be used in the USA (110V) and in countries where the distribution is on a 220V (most of Europe, Brazil etc) Of course you will need a plug adapter (no voltage transformer) but you can use the original AC adapter supplied because it is a 110V/220V.

- Answer Hello Steve, thank you for your message. In regards to your concern, would depend of the available ports on your TV. You cannot hook up a headphone directly to your Blu-ray disc player unless your Headphones have a Digital IN Coaxial. Unfortunately this particular Blu-ray disc player does not have it. - Answer You may not have an audio output jack on your TV. If you have a cable box, there should be an output jack somewhere in the rear of the box.

- Answer I just move it from one tv to another. Simple to do. I'm thinking of buying another pair for my husband for his Tv so we can both use them at the same time since we are both hard of hearing and these seem to cut out the background noise.

- Answer The Audio Output of the TV has to be connected to the Transmitter of the Sony MDRRF985RK Headphones. After that, the Transmitter and the Headphones would communicate wirelessly. The reception range is up to 45 meters (150 feet). You can use the Headphones in a different room as long as it is within the reception range.

QuestionStatic on all channelsI have constant to intermittent loud static on all 3 channels from 10 feet away with transmitter next to TV, to just under 2 feet away when the transmitter is moved across the room close to my head and 10 feet from TV. At 2 feet it finally is quiet enough to make it usable but the transmitter right next to my head pretty much makes the wireless function pointless. Is there any way to stop the static?

QuestionHow long will the NON replaceable Rechargeable batteries last on average..IE. In another answer Sony says you have to send them in to a Service center to be replaced...About how long should they last with 5-7 hours a week of use on average, before they stop recharging...AND is this costly ie Do you have to buy a new pair instead!!
