Yes. It will function like any other Blutooth remote speaker. The "Music Center / SongPal" app is used on your device to setup and configure. I have two SRS-ZR5 speakers and use them mostly as Surround Speakers for a Sony HT-CT790 Sound Bar System on my 75in.Sony 4K.

Yes you can. It works like a typical bluetooth speaker as a stand alone. You can add additional SR series speakers to it if wanted. Great speaker good sound and great options with the app controls.
