“Does the Noise Cancelling function work WITHOUT music being played? Do the headphones need to be: a) connected to, or b) connected to AND using an active audio source (MP3 player, phone, aux airline movie/audio, etc.). I want these for Noise Cancelling.”

NC is automatically on (you have to turn them off) and yes, works w/o playing music

Yes the noise canceling works without music being played but it’s more like noise “muffling” it doesn’t block the noise completely.

Do the head phone needs to be connected to my computer & using an active audio mp3 ? My computer is windows 10 , I7 Aurora R5. My cell phone is Samsung S8+ . How to use wireless Sony MDR XB950N1 bluetooth with my computer or cellphone S8+ ? Thanks.
