  • QuestionI have 2 XP500 speakers and I bought them specifically so I could play the simultabeously.. is there a specific step by step process to go thru, in order to do that? Half the time I try it, I'm only able to get 1 speaker to connect. It's very frustrating.

    Asked by Steve.

    • Answer I just bought my second speaker. Now i have a pair and it was fairly easy to get them working as a grouped pair. You just need the mobile app and the rest is intuitive as heck (press the button that says pair/add with another speaker). Hope this helps.

  • QuestionHow many watts is the speaker?

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer Hi there, Thank you for the question. Unfortunately, the wattage of this speaker is not a public specification that we disclose at this time, and here is why. Watts tells an incomplete story when judging a speaker’s performance. To be more accurate you would need to know the watts, the dB rating, and frequency range (Hz) of all the speakers in the unit. Also, the distortion (THD) rate and the number of speakers driven for the rating of watts presented on the box. Yes, those things are not standardized. Then do some math, and you will get a general understanding of the loudness and range of the speaker in question. Then do that for all the different companies and you could compare with specs, though even if they were equal, they may sound different due to processing. At Sony we try to give you the absolute best sounding speaker, that has all the features our customers have told us really matter to them. Hope this helps! The XP500 combines superb sound with plenty of party features to make it a fun and versatile speaker. Asked by Dawn.

    • Answer Hi Dawn, Thank you for your inquiry! This speaker can only be charged from an AC outlet connected with the supplied AC power cord (mains lead). The USB port of this speaker can be used to charge your smartphone. And even if the speaker is not connected to an AC outlet, its built-in battery can supply power to a USB device. Hope this helps!
