• Old is relative ha! As long as your tv has RCA jacks, you can use this

• Yes, as long as your older TV has RCA (red and white, right/left) outputs on the back or a headphone jack. Both cables for these connections are included in the box.

• Yes - our TV is one of the early flat screens Philips 47" and we just connected a soundbar - no problems.
