Our bar provides clear sound. The volume up and down on the remote should raise and lower the volume of sound coming out of the bar (we usually use the TV remote to set the volume the TV is putting out and let the bar set to where it doesn't have a hiss (or its just barely audible) when the TV volume is really low or muted. We're connect by the Headphone cable and jack. I don't think we'd have a hiss through a Digit Optical connection). The Source buttons, should switch between devices connected to the bar. Not sure what would cause it to change TV channels, since that fuction isn't on the remote. Sounds defective to me. I'd return, or exchange, it if it is still within the allowed timeframe; or contact the manufacturer for warranty repair/exchange.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yeah I think you would probably have to exchange it. It shouldn’t be doing that at all.
