• The bumpers provide some protection but I'd still purchase a glass screen protector for extra protection.

• The case has raised edges but like all cases marketed for impact proofing they are designed to only protect shocks and hard hits to the body of your phone. Consider investing additionally in a tempered glass screen protector that is usually stronger than the iPhone screen if you want peace of mind total protection.

• It does protect the whole phone no matter how it's dropped although the case gets scratched when it drops.

• From my experience, the bumpers on the case do protect the phone when dropped...even face down (which I've done more than once).
