- Answer I was wondering the same thing. Cnet.com has specs on both of these models. The only difference I can find is that the ae014dx has a privacy filter in the screen. -Jenn

- Answer A question many are asking and as some have already said . . . the only apparent difference is the presence of a privacy screen function with the 14dx model. If that isn't a must have feature for you and you can get the other model at a significant price savings, that is the way I would go.

- Answer I did not buy this laptop for video editing. I'm using mine for business. Financial accounting and the office 365. It has a lot of power so it could very well suit your needs. I just don't use it for that. Mostly QuickBooks Pro, Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook. One of the reasons I chose this laptop is because of the solid state hard drive and the Intel i7. My provious laptop hard drives failed way too soon. Since I'm carting it from one client to another the Best Buy tech thought the solid state hard drive would be much more durable.

- Answer You would use the Thunderbolt 3 USB C ports for running an external display. There are USB C to HDMI adapters which would work excellently.

- Answer Thank you for reaching out. Open box models will have the same warranty as new. If it had been powered on before the warranty may already be active and counting down but you can send in the receipt to HP and they will adjust the warranty start date. Only the models sold as refurbished or Pre-owned would have a different warranty.

- Answer I have not had any problems with my HP Spectre running hot, or the fan being noisy. The fan does not come on often for me. I love my Spectre and would definitely recommend it.

- Answer Mine has not had any unusual issues with heat so far. I had a 7th generation prior to this purchase, and it had heat issues until I updated the driver software.

- Answer you can. if you google windows pro upgrade u can find a legit software website where they have a license they email to you for 25-50 bucks as opposed to buying it directly from microsoft which is i think 150 bucks.
