Yes, this is because the AC has to draw moist air across the cooled condenser coils to pull the moisture out. This process causes heat to come out the exhaust port.

Please try again later.Yes, Dehumidifiers basically will operate the air-conditioning to the point where the coils reach the dew point, the dew point is when water will condense on the coils. Think of it like a glass of water or soda when water accumulates on the outside of the glass. To achieve the temp to consolidate the air compressor runs to cool the coils that will condense the water. You can always have the hot air exhausted out a window, the air will still be dehumidified it just won't focus on cooling the air to a certain temp, but instead is focused on reducing humidity.
