• We placed ours on the ground next to our house and rv when we travel and have excellent reception. No mounting required and no worries about it blowing over or storm winds ripping it off of a mount. As long as you have a clear view of the sky it will work. If you are surrounded by close trees then you'd need to mount.

• The pole mount is cheaper thru starlink Web site store...it's 50 dollars Walmart is 98 Dollars.got mine at starlink website store
