QuestionI have a monitor w/ a DVI cable and new computer w/ a display port on the video card. Will this adapter work to connect the too. The DVI end of the adapter would need to be female and the display port end male.

QuestionI have an older video card that only has DVI and HDMI and want to connect it to a Display Port monitor at 1080p and 144hrz. through DP KVM switch. I have both DVI to DVI and DP to DP cables but want to connect it to 2 computers.

- Answer No, DP2DVI2 is a DisplayPort to DVI adapter. The DisplayPort connects to the source and the DVI connects to the display. DP2DVIMM6 also supports 1920x1200 / 1080p @60hz. Atha, StarTech.com Support

- Answer Unless you have a DVI connector on your computer (unlikely) the answer is no. What you may need is DVI to HDMI, but that depends what display connector(s) you have on your computer.

- Answer If the Dell monitor has a DVI port and the Thinkpad laptop has a Display port it shouldn't be an issue. The other way around won't work though.
