QuestionI am using this with YouTube TV and an Optical cable from the TV to the receiver however I am not getting the output in Dolby surround. How can I get this to work with my surround sound (Denon Receiver)? Different output connection?

- Answer Many tvs only output a stereo signal from their optical outputs thereby not passing dolby digital to your receiver which I assume does not have hdmi inputs. If you have such a receiver, the only way to get dolby digital is to purchase roku's top of the line 4k box, not stick, which I believe has an optical audio out you can connect to your receiver.

- Answer Yes with the right app. If you look at it as similar to a smartphone, it's a device that has loads of apps to install and run. Some apps are: Hulu, YouTube TV, Philo, DirecTV Now, Sling, Playstation Vue--but there are hundreds more and many free ones (usually with older movies & TV shows, but also a few free live news apps or channels).

- Answer Hi ! Yes, the DirecTV Stream channel is available on the Roku Channel Store. Just like your smartphone accesses an “app store” to add new applications, your Roku streaming player accesses the Roku Channel Store to add new channels. While the DirecTV Stream channel is free to download, you will need to login with your account credentials to access programming.

- Answer The Roku doesn't record anything, but through streaming services apps like Hulu, YouTube TV, Playstation Vue & others, they have a 'cloud DVR' to record anywhere from 20 hours to unlimited hours depending on which service you sigh up with.

QuestionOn the Roku stick I know it has preloaded apps. My question pertains to Hulu. Does the stick support Hulu Live? I have a 2015 Samsung Smart Tv and while it has Hulu it does not have Hulu live. I am trying to solve this issue with the Roku stick.

- Answer Yes. I used that free trial even with last years $30 roku express you can watch Hulu live for 7 days free then for $40 per month. And that's actually my favorite live tv streaming provider.

QuestionI went to store yesterday and talked to the guy in that department and explained to him what kind of tv i had and he didn't say if i have a roku tv i do not need the stick.That makes me mad as a single mom of 2 kids i can not afford much.

- Answer A Roku TV already has a Roku inside of it. The stick shouldn’t give you anything else. You still need subscriptions to Netflix or Hulu to watch those channels.

QuestionMy Roku unit has worked perfectly for a few years, however for the past few months the Netflix picture consistently blacks out and seems to be resetting itself. This may occur several times a minute with a "no signal" error.
