Q: QuestionIs this meant only for single family homes or can it work for my hi rise Condo? I have metered water and a tankless hot water heater and big water bills.
Asked by dianed2020.
- A:Answer It should work in your condo as long as you have access to the water supply main that enters your unit and you will need to have a power outlet nearby to connect to the meter. You may want to contact stream labs support to be sure before you purchase though.

Q: QuestionWhere is the best location to install, if not in the crawl space? If installed under the kitchen sink, and it is further down the pipeline from the bathroom, does it still work well?
Asked by ElW.
- A:Answer Hi - Thank you for your interest in the StreamLabs Monitor. The best installation location is any location that is closest to your main shut-off valve, before the main line branches. The Monitor can only detect leaks downstream of the installation location, so making sure to install the device before any branches is key. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to reach out to us at [email protected].

Q: QuestionI have a 3/4 inch pipe that normally does NOT have water running through it. But on occasion it may have very hot water running through it. I want to be notified or get an alert when this happens. Will Streamlab product be able to tell me?
Asked by JonB.
- A:Answer Hi - Thank you for your interest in the StreamLabs Monitor. For the Monitor to calibrate, the pipe the Monitor is installed on must be fully pressurized (no air). If the Monitor detects air in the pipe, it will lose calibration. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact us directly at [email protected].

Q: QuestionWhat is the relative accuracy of this system? How much will it carry from the water meter? Thanks in advance
Asked by Tom.
- A:Answer It seems to be fairly accurate. I compare it to my meter from time to time. If your internet ever goes down, however, which mine did for a few hours, any water you use during that period will not be recorded.

Q: QuestionI am on well and septic . Does this work for leak detection as I have well equipment , tanks aerator tank etc. and the system does clean itself at least once a day using more water ? how will it differentiate between a leak and a cleaning ?
Asked by chick.
- A:Answer It measures water flow through a pipe, whether it comes from a well or other source. It sits on the outside of an existing pipe, so no cleaning is required for it.
