Will it hold an iPhone securely? My old one does not null

No this product is for a Camera

I used mine in combination with the JOBY grip tight smart https://www.bestbuy.com/site/joby-griptight-smart/6432683.p?skuId=6432683 It held it securely. I have also used it with my dslr and the grip tight mounted to the camera with no issues.
