“How many days will this record and can it be switched to record only when it senses motion”

• It does sense motion and even better is that you can specify filters as to where the motion has to be so if it shows the sidewalk and your yard, it would only record motion in the yard. As for how many days, I was told it would record everything for about a month. Only recording motion would obviously change that.

• It is already set to record only motion activated scenes no change of setup is required.

• Yes. It has a motion sensor you can adjust.
