Q: Do you have to hook up to a computer
A: No, but if you want to be able to use an app on your phone to see the cameras, it has to be on wi fi.
A: Depends on your skill level, and the particular installation. The biggest issue is probably routing the wires to the cameras. They have power and video, with separate molded plugs. Only hook up one way, but take about a 3/4 inch hole to feed thru the wall. Basic screwdriver/drill/ hammer are all you need, if you don't have masonry to go through. You do need to evaluate weather exposure, local regulations, etc.
Q: do cameras have listen in audio?
A: No audio on the cameras.
A: The cameras are not wireless. They are hard wired with about 60' cords.
Q: Does it record in color at night?
A: No. There is not a system that records in color at night that uses IR " INFA RED" all infa red is always black and white.
Q: Can you upload the just portions of the video to a PC or a flash drive and save just that file.
A: Yes. When it records, it actually breaks it camera into sections. So you might have 3 video files for one camera. Not sure why it does that. But you can choose which file to transfer.
Q: does it blow out in the sun I mean does the camera still able to see in the sun
A: They work fine I have one that looks into the evening sun, I haven't noticed any issues with white out or distortions
Q: do you need a monitor to see whats going on
A: Yes , any pc monitor or a TV can be used.
