Is there a lag time before the cameras record? null

Yes. The lag was pretty bad 1-3 seconds. Someone had enough time to drive up, smash my car window, and grab a bag. Unfortunately I found a beta update that addressed most of the lag issues after my car was broken into. https://support.swann.com/2018-firmware-updates-Ska5PM0xm This seemed to have lessened the lag to about 1 second or less.

In my experience with several of these systems you can set it to record all the time or only when triggered my motion. When triggered it seems to record a few second before the motion. Our business is located on a busy road and we have had the local PD and FBI obtain video from us a few times. We are very pleased with these systems.
