These are connected via cable. Wifi/wireless cameras tend to not have as good of a picture. Either way you look at it, you have to wire a power supply to camera, so why not video 1080 with a direct cable connection. I found that if you drill a hole behind the camera and through the wall where it is well mounted, this will hide the wires from prying eyes of thieves vandals and ill willed hooligans. Also, if you have stucco you can use stone anchor fasteners that will make a more sturdy mount that will not be easy to pop off the wall with a swing of the hand or the throw of a stone. In other words it will buy the camera valuable time while it collects valuable evidence. The wires can be run from the wall into the crawlspace or attic and with a small hole saw or paddle drill, you can drop the wires down the the exact spot where the DVR will be stationed. You can even put a wall plate to make it cosmetic where the wires come through the wall. If you want to get professional you can get the pvc and slide it down the wall and use it to insulate the wires for electrical interference if you have other electrical wires nearby. I found that pcv insulates well and you can choose your diameter and fitting angles. plus it is easy to install as it gives better than conduit. Coiled conduit also installs easy around corners though. You want to protect your wires because repair guys tend to be club footed and drag their way through tight spaces where much care is required. they often can fix one thing and trip over 4 others and you won't know until they are long gone what has happened. tip: If you run a wire puller thorough one end first, you can tie the wire to the end and then pull it back through the pipe/pvc/conduit whichever you have chosen. This will help especially when there are already 2 or 3 wires in place and it starts to get tight. Also, I found it sometimes helpful to use two pullers, one on each end that way it is easy to pull either way.
