A:AnswerDear Customer. With the spotlights turned on or sufficient ambient light, the cameras can view up to 32ft / 10m in color. Without lights or enough light, they can see up to 100ft / 32m in Black & White Infrared night vision. -SD, Swann Team
A:AnswerHi Norma. No, the cameras do not have motors that would allow you to move them from your phone, for that you would need specialized PT (Pan Tilt) cameras which Swann do not sell for DVR systems. The PRO-1080SQ cameras in this kit have a wide 90 degree field of view and they will just stay facing the direction that you installed them to face. -SD, Swann Team
A:AnswerHi Dave. The support of up to 4TB means that the DVR is capable of working with hard drives up to 4TB capacity in the event that you wished to swap the included 1TB hard drive for something larger yourself. 1TB is still a very large size though and would give you a few week’s worth of recordings if you recorded 24/7 from all cameras. We would however recommend using motion-based recording instead, whereby the 1TB will take many months (6-12mths) to fill up. -SD, Swann Team

A:AnswerHi VJ. This system is a DVR and the cables that run between the recorder and the cameras are analog coax cables with BNC connectors. Swann also sell more premium NVR systems which use PoE and ethernet cables rather than coax ones. We apologize for the error on this BestBuy page where it states PoE, this is incorrect and we will get this corrected ASAP. Sorry for any confusion. -SD, Swann Team
A:AnswerUse a battery backup system (UPS) to power and protect the security system. It keeps everything running 24/7 or until the UPS battery runs out. The APC 1500 VA unit, for example, can run for 170 minutes. The load current determines run time.
Security systems often have an interesting failure mode. If a camera fails, the DVR might continue showing the last image. As a result, you may never see a troublemaker if he or she destroys a camera. Test this by watching all cameras working and then disconnect power to one. See if a black screen or last image gets recorded.
A:AnswerIf you have it hooked up to a laptop or monitor/tv. There is a set up wizard and you hook each camera to the system and and name them and save any information you input.
You can always contact Swann at their site they are very helpful.
