- Answer The cable contains both video and power in one sheath. The camera power supply will plug in near the DVR.

- Answer Only needs internet connection for viewing from a remote location. Works as a monitor/recorder with no internet.

- Answer Cameras are not wireless. Supplied cable needs to be run between cameras and DVR. Works better that way as my experience with wireless cameras was disappointing.

QuestionHOW DVR BE INTERFACED WITH INFRARED SURVEILLANCE CAMERAS MADE BY OTHER COMPANIES?SINCE I ALREADY HAVE 4 CAMERAS OUTSIDE, INFRARED ONES, CAN I SIMPLY DISCONNECT THEM TO THE DVR IN MY HOME THAT NO LONGER WORKS AND THEN HOOK UP MY OLD CAMERAS TO A NEW DVR LIKE THIS UNIT FOR SALE AT BEST BUY AND JUST KEEP THE NEW CAMERAS INS TORAGE FOR NOW?

- Answer Yes as long as they are BNC Connection, it should work, but you may have different power supply, to power connection. but that's it. Thanks Guy

- Answer Nope it will record in a loop constantly erasing the old stuff. I think you get like 7 days of footage if you are using all 4 cameras. My system doesn't record when there is no motion at all so that really extends time it recording time off the hard disk.

- Answer The alerts are sent out via emails, so as long as your phone is configured to receive emails, then yes you will get an alert.

QuestionIs it easy to turn off the system or individual cameras for when I am home?I have motion detector security lights that I can turn off all of them from one switch whenever I want to. Can I easily turn off the the cameras or the system (perhaps from the remote or a switch on the dvr) -- for individual cameras? or all cameras at once? -- from online? from the remote? or from a switch on the dvr?
