QuestionDo these cameras show the images in color or black and white only? Thamks

- Answer It’s color and at night it switches to night mode, which is B&W. On the mobile device though, viewing is horrible and in iOS11 the app is not even supported and no update from Swann. If you won’t be doing mobile viewing - no problem then.

QuestionHow much noise does the DVR box make? Is it suitable to have in a bedroom? Or does it need to be stashed in a closet because of the noise? Thank you

- Answer It doesn't make a lot of noise but I have to sleep in a silent room so I put it elsewhere but it's quieter than a quiet fan so you should be good

- Answer I got this link from Swann when I had the same question before purchasing http://www.swann.com/media/wysiwyg/docs/swann-camera-compatibility.pdf If you can't download the pdf, the customer service at Swann is awesome at answering back, they answered me in under 24 hours on a weekend.

QuestionCan you schedule recording times/set to motion recording for certain times of the day? We only need to record at night.

- Answer Yes you can, it's not that hard to do if you have experience figuring out a vcr, you can program the record times. There is an option right on the main menu to set recording time of day, days of the week, etc. This is a really user friendly system, well worth it.

- Answer Yes. But its an add on I bought and I love it (HD bullet) if I turn it up all the way I can hear my neighbors tv. In there bed room 200 feet away .

- Answer An Internet connection is not required. Unless you choose to view the cameras remotely via a compatible smartphone, tablet, or computer.

- Answer Hi, The cameras get power from the system/DVR, and will need to be wired using the cables that come in the box (video and power, per cable set to each camera). The system itself (DVR) use a regular voltage adapter, which supports 110-220 , so you will be good! I’m very pleased with the system

QuestionWhere would I mount the DVR? 8 cables coming into attic and into interior wall where DVR is located, or DVR in attic with 8 cables, and only VGA or HDMI comes into interior of home.

- Answer Attics can get very hot, not good for the DVR. I would recommend keeping the DVR inside and routing the cables into a room with the DVR, There also has to be access to a network connection if you want to monitor the cameras remotely and there is a mouse that needs to attach to the DVR for operations and setup.

- Answer Don’t know about that but I do know that you will be extremely disappointed if you are planning on using the app to monitor the cameras, Don’t recommend this system at all. Remote access doesn’t work, cannot zoom. Plus other annoying issues
