Questionwhere is the lock slot? the sales person told me it would work with my HP laptop.

- Answer I worked in Industry for 20+ Years supporting large networks, and most laptops I have worked on, and I have worked with several different brands, and many models, have it on the right side about a inch from the back. Look on the left at the back also, just in case it is an oddball like me. It should be a tiny rectangular shaped typically horizontal hole/slot.

- Answer No, the 2015 MacBook Air does not have a Kensington lock sicker for this cable to fit into. The MacBook Air requires a special locking mechanism that slides through the hinge.

- Answer I believe it will. There are two versions of this product. One with a coiled security cable and one with a strait cable. The Strait cable has three different adapters and will work on most laptops. The coiled one I believe will work on Most laptops but not sure about apple.

- Answer If your device has a Kensington security slot it will most likely work for it. Also, the lock comes with multiple stick on spacers that you stick onto the lock itself that help to ensure the lock is nice and tight in the slot when you lock it and not sloppy and loose.

- Answer It depends on the year. All Mac laptop models since 2014 no longer have the locking port option.

- Answer Look for a small, about 1/8' rectangular hole in the back of the case. If it has it, then it's setup for this type of security product. If not, the cable system comes with a self-sticking attachment thing.

- Answer Not for iPads. This lock needs a Kensington slot that is found on the side of a laptop. Get one with an adhesive pad for your product.

- Answer Not all laptops can use this lock. If I were you, I'd ask a Best Buy employee or take your laptop in when you buy it. We had to ask the employee & found the correct one for us.
