No, you just wont be able to get very far.

I have never seen a laptop that you would have to remove to use this. I guess in theory if your laptop does not open when the it is locked that could prevent use but there is nothing software wise that prevents usage.

No. Almost every laptop has a hole to put the lock without affecting functionality
