It works on the older MacBook Pro styles that have a Kensington lock attachment. The Retina MacBook Pro, which lacks a CD/DVD drive is too thin to use Kensington locks. There is a company that makes a case that adds the ability to use a Kensington lock to a Retina MacBook Pro so that could be an option.
