If you have to travel with your laptop, you know how worried you can get when you have to leave it unattended. Stop worrying. This is an easy to use lock down that thwarts someone just picking up your laptop and walking away. I've also used mine in hotel rooms to string together bags I don't want someone to walk out with.

There is not a lot that I need to say about this item because it accomplishes the purpose I purchased it for. When you have to leave your laptop unattended in a public place like a library or empty classroom, it can be safely secured with this device. It was recommended to me by a couple of my friends and I would definitely recommend it to someone else who may be looking for a convenient and inexpensive way to secure their laptop or whatever else that needs to be secured when you cannot be there to watch it for yourself. The combination locking system is cool because you do not have keys to lose or leave at home or in the car after you have locked something up. I really hope this helps you in your decision to purchase this product. It was a great purchase for me. I have not found any cons about this item.

I love this lock I bought for my work laptop. It latches on easily and stays secure. I would buy another one in the future.

Easy to set code. Easy to use. Easy to hook safely in dorm to desk. Cable was plenty long enough. Hopefully daughter will NEVER have to have it fully tested (meaning NO ONE will attempt to steal her lap top from dorm room)...but so far it's working as we expected and adding another layer of security to one of the more expensive items with her at school.

I recently purchased and donated a new laptop for use by our church. I was not so much concerned about theft as with people moving the laptop from the sanctuary where it's often needed to drive our projection system to some other place on the premises where it couldn't be immediately found when needed. The Targus cable lock turned out to be a simple and elegant solution to address that concern. The cable lock is simple and works great.

Used two of these at the office on iMacs. You can stick the security bracket anywhere - and it sticks! I put it on with just a slight angle and could not move it at all one second later! They also supply screws and recommend both, but I don't think that it going anywhere. The last one I bought did not have the spacers around the lock attachment in the pack - luckily I had one left over from the first install.

Great for traveling. Used it in Mexico when I setup my laptop for work. Cable is strong enough to deter theft but can be cut with quality cutters. But there's a tradeoff between convenience and 100% security. This is a good balance between the two.

This is a strong cable with a coating to make cutting through it difficult. The four-number security lock allows for keyless security. As long as it is a number you can remember you can get it open without fearing for a lost key - I strongly prefer this setup to a keyed lock. It works as advertised with my laptop and is long enough to secure it to most desk setups.

I purchased the locks to help with damage control and theft in my after school program. Targus is a brand name I recognized and trust. They are quality locks, they just did not fulfill the purpose I needed them for. I wish they would have been made to work with iPads. I liked that they were combination locks vs. a key lock.

Good price on this lock which fits in the standard lock port on my older MacBook Pro and should fit most other PC's with the standard lock port. Fairly long length of chain, for ease of securing and able to set your own combination which you can change at any time the lock is unlocked. Seems fairly secure and well made.

the cable is strong and durable, and is very easy to stick in my backpack and carry with me. it also attaches to the computer very well.

Having received a new laptop as a graduation gift, and since I will be using it in public places at college, sometimes probably not always able to keep my eyes on it, I decided that this lock was an excellent choice to help protect my equipment.

Bought this to use in the dorm at school. It is easy to use allows me to use the MAC and have an extra level of security. Would recommend to a friend.

I travel a lot and wanted something to secure my laptop when I wasn't in my hotel room. This was the perfect answer. 4-digit combination instead of 3 makes it harder to hack and the long cable give a bit of flexibility when it comes to having something solid and immovable to secure it to.

I purchased this lock after a recent robbery kept me from leaving my laptop in my apartment. Now I feel fine leaving it now that it's locked to my desk. The cable is pretty long, so it's easy to loop around a desk and still be able to use the laptop while it's locked up. My only complaint is that it does not work for my laptop when the hard shell case is on it, but I doubt many of these locks take that into consideration. Overall a good buy, especially for someone in college.

The price I found was a third of the regular price for the Defcon CL PA410U combination cable lock. A great bargain on a well known, trusted brand - Targus! I bought 10 of these for my office and then I came back a few weeks later and got 10 more.

The computer lock I purchased is an excellent product due to the fact I use my laptop in public places on many occasions and I do not have to worry about someone walking off with it as easy as they could without a lock

This is a good lock for the price. Because it has four numbers to lock/unlock, it is a little bulky. I am a professional photographer and use it to lock my laptop when at different stadium/arenas (shooting sports). Most of the time, you have limited space and this gets in the way when you are trying to use a mouse.

I've used this style lock for many years, and on many PCs and Laptops. It does what it's meant to do, plain and simple. If you're looking for something fancy, this isn't it, but most don't want fancy, they want "secure". Now, on to the "take notice" - this is NOT the serialized one with a preset code, despite what the pictures may show. So, just be careful in your purchase there.

Despite some people's complaints on the web, this is a GREAT cable. ok so you need a screw driver, or coin to turn the screw to position to set your combo…. in the end, is that really so bad when it prevents people from changing your combination to steal your device? not to me. the device is easy to use, easy to read numbers, and easy to operate even with heavy gloves on. i have no complaints and it has served me well.
