“I have this soundbar connected to a TCL 55” 4k 4-series via HDMI (ARC) and the sound quality is terrible. There is no bass whatsoever. Any suggestions for improvement? I love the TCL TVs (this is the third one I have purchased) and had high hopes.”

There are different sound modes (Music, Movie, and News) that can be changed based on what you are watching to better suit the content. You may want to try changing to a different mode to better fit the content you are watching. The sound modes can only be changed using the TCL Alto remote that comes with the soundbar. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This sound bar doesn’t have much bass at all. No way to adjust it that I could figure out. I also have it on a tcl 55” tv. I did have it above the tv but moved it to below and it seems better. Still wish there was more bass or a way to adjust it.
