Hi there, The F750 is not battery operated. Instead, the unit functions on a super capacitor and must be connected to a power source at all times to operate. In parking mode, the dash cam is actively recording at all times but will only save footage if motion or impact is detected. Please note that the dash cam must be hard wired to your vehicle's fuse box to enable parking mode. Kind regards, Thinkware Customer Support
