You will need another Bluetooth enabled device like a smart phone to run the Tile app. That device would need to be in blue tooth range of the tile you affix to your husbands phone. Just press locate device in the app and the tile will start chirping. It would work pretty well if you’re just trying to find it around the house, the chirp isn’t the loudest, even being underneath something or inside a pocket dampens the sound significantly. So you’ll need to listen pretty close. Also remember it isn’t GPS, so if his phone is out of blue tooth range (25-50 feet) you won’t know where it is. The history will show the last place it was connected to the app. So might be able to figure out where he left it.

With Bluetooth, the distance is limited (~150 ft) and may be less if a lot of walls or heavy metal are in the way. I my opinion the Tile sticker is larger than I thought so the flip phone may look a little “goofy” with a large item attached.
