Yes, there is a slot into which you slide their cable card, and in the process of setting up the new TiVo, you’ll have to call the number on the setup screen to have Comcast pair the card to the TiVo unit. My setup process was pretty straightforward, and I’m not the most tech savvy guy you ever met. ;-)

Yes positively but you do have to get a cable card from comcast to insert into the bottom of the Tivo. That allows you to get all of the comcast channels through the Tivo. I believe the charge is $9.99 per month for the card payable on ur comcast bill.
