Yes the RF does pair to a specific mini. I do not know how many different remotes can be paired. I know tis because my wife grabbed the remote for the unit in my office yesterday and it kept changing my channels not hers.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes - the remote in RF mode is keyed to at set-up to the Mini it is set up with. However, the remote also sends IR signals that may trigger all of the other Minis as factory set, but you can go into the menus and select channels so this doesn't happen. In other words, I think there is a good chance that 'out of the box' and once linked to a particular Mini (you may want to do this out of IR range of the other boxes to begin with) that the remote will NOT trigger other Minis or TiVo boxes . . . but if I'm wrong, I know you can set it up in the box's settings to link to only one box.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The remotes are not tied to one TiVo. They work all tivos and there is no way to key them to just one.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. My roamio remote will operate my mini. My mini remote won't operate my roamio. Hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The remote works only with the mini box
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, the remote is keyed to the device it shipped with. I have 2 Roamio's and 2 Mini's and there have been no problems with the use of the RF signal.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The remotes work any Tivo device within the bluetooth signal range of about 30 feet.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. Remotes pair with the units initially using IR. Once they are paired they control only the units that they are paired with over RF.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You will first want to make sure that the TiVo minis that you have actually included RF remotes. The TiVo minis initially included IR remotes even though the boxes supported RF remotes. I believe that they switched to including RF remotes around the time that they dropped the service fee on the TiVo minis and included it as part of the initial purchase. All newer TiVo boxes with RF remotes (including the mini) come in "New Pairing Mode" that pairs it automatically to included RF remote when it's fully booted and the first command is sent from the remote. This uniquely pairs each RF remote to the specific TiVo being set up. So as long as you went through this already, each RF remote should only be paired to the corresponding specific TiVo mini.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. My remotes are paired to the TV the way other TIVO remotes are. I saw the RF feature, but I did not explore it and I cannot say it it be set to operate a specific Mini. I might suggest calling TIVO support - I used them several times and they were easy to reach.
