Tito mini will NOT record any programs. All recordings will be done with your main Tivo unit (mine is a Roamio). The Tivo mini allows you to view the recordings made on the main unit. There is no hard drive in the Tivo mini.

The host device (in my case a TiVo Premier) does the recording work, but yes, it looks, seems, and feels as if the mini iis the same as a full TiVo box in the way it works. Your only limitation is the number of tuners in your host TiVo device.

The Mini unit does not record anything directly, it must be paired with another Tivo unit like the Bolt or Roamio. Its only internal capabilities is to stream services like Amazon, Netflix, or Hulu.
