“Our Tivo Roamio is connected via WiFi.We're thinking of getting a Tivo mini to watch dvr'd shows in another room.Will I need to now have both machines directly connected to the Ethernet,or can I plug the mini in and still access shows from the Roamio?”

No. You can create a MoCA network, but you must have a cable connection for the mini.

Roamio should be hard wired to modem then In the other room you want to use the Tivo mini, You will run your coax line from the wall to the mini and it communicates through that

As long as they're on the same home network, wired or wireless they'll work. MOCA connections will work better though.

I think you will need to connect both units via Ethernet or MOCA. the mini does not operate via wifi.

It's been a while since I set my system up, but I believe that they both need to be installed via Ethernet.
