  • Questionwhat is the best way to hook up a TiVo bolt to the charter cable network

    Asked by bradric911.

    • Answer Call your cable provider and get them to send you a cable card. You have to pop that in and activate it on the Cable providers network. It is very easy step by step.

  • QuestionDoes it work if I watch with an android device?

    Asked by Henry.

    • Answer The Tivo Mini allows you to hook up an additional TV to an existing primary Tivo (Roamio/Bolt/etc), so it is not something that you would use with an Android device. The newer Tivo units (Roamio/Bolt/etc) have video streamers built into them which allows you to stream recorded content to mobile devices, and yes Android devices are fully supported in that scenario. You do not need the Tivo Mini to do video streaming to a mobile device.

  • Questionis there a subscription charge?

    Asked by subscription.

    • Answer Not for the Tivo mini, but there is for the main Tivo unit (though you can buy a cheaper yearly subscription, or a subscription for the life of the unit).

    • Answer This unit is compatible with a TiVo Premiere 4, but you need the TiVo box to have 4 tuners or more.

  • QuestionWill Tivo Mini-VOX work with Roku streaming service? And do I need a separate unit per TV?

    Asked by SMAK.

    • Answer Do you mean does the Tivo mini include the Roku channel? If so, then no. And normally you’d want a Tivo mini for each separate tv (with your main Tivo unit probably in the living room, or whatever). You could theoretically move the minis between TVs though, if you wanted to.

  • QuestionCan I use TiVo mini box media player as a stand alone box connected to wireless internet and hd tv?

    Asked by Suzy.

    • Answer Officially TiVO does not support wireless, only Ethernet connected LAN or Coax Cable connected. I has to have a headend Tivo DVR to work for cable, the Smart TV funtions of the box are independent of the main DVR though I believe. All that said, I have connected one of the Minis to a wireless to LAN adapter and have run it for several months with no issues and I have talked to other TiVO users who have done the same with good results.
