“Can I just open the box and use it right away or do I have to do stuff first like charge it up, get the maps downloaded, etc. I really need to be able to have one I can use right away”

• As long as you can plug it in to your cigarette lighter or power source you should be fine my model had a low battery so a charge was necessary

• Yes, you can use this right away, however it would be best to charge it first.
