“Does the unit provide an audible sound alert? Is there a sound-based alert when I am going over the speed limit to warn me to slow down? I don't mean just a change in color but an actual sound. Also does this occur at a certain percentage over the limit, not just one or two miles an hour? It appears that no Garmin units do this. Descriptions of the TomTom units seem to be vague on this point. It seems pretty basic. I just want to avoid a ticket. Thanks.”

No audible alert. Speed box turns red after about. 4 over.

To be warned when going over the speed limit please follow the below steps: - Go into the main menu ion your device and tap settings/preferences - Now find safety settings - Put a tick in the box for ‘warn me when going faster than allowed’ tap next - Now choose a warning sound and tap next - You will now be warned when going over the speed limit The speed limit warning will only warn you when you go over the speed limit, please note for speed cameras you will only be given an audio warning when you are travelling faster than 60% of the speed limit, or if you are exceeding the speed limit.
