• This drive worked great when backing up several different Windows 7 devices. Encountered several problems with Vista. End up finally using an old external drive to back up

• I see no reason why this hard drive would not work with either Vista or Windows 7. It's also USB 2.0 compatible so even if the hardware on the computer isn't 3.0 compatible, the drive should still work. Data transfers would be slower, though.

• Yes, it will work with both. Just don't expect the fast transfer speeds of usb 3.0 because older computers won't have that available.
