• I'm using it running win 8.1 now. No issues so far but i used the included software to back up my computer files and stuff and it suffered a crash where i had to re-install the operating system. Half of my backed up file didn't reinstall. Took me 2 weeks to get most of it back. Good hard drive poor software. Windows has a better backup program than this had. Hope this helps

• USB 2.0 & 3.0 compatible... if you have a free USB port, should be good to go. Works perfectly on my Asus Windows 8.1
