The tablet does support multiple users. It works on a complete Windows 8.1 just like on a laptop or desktop, so you set up the users the same way you would on those using the pc settings. Just like on other PCs, you can also install programs for use on specified users only, or allow programs to be used by all users per your preference.

One with administartive rights for you and then one for your child with parental controls turned on. It has all of the parental controls that Windows and Internet Explorer provide.

However, my wife is the one who set it up on the tablet and I'm unsure if the device has to be manually configured for each child or if it is simply adding the device to the service and then settings are pulled down from the cloud. Side note: We got an Encore 2 and it refused to power on after one week- tried 3 different cords and various outlets- and exchanged it for another one. And we also bought a HP Stream 7 as well.
