A:AnswerI'm not positive, because I don't know what kind of TV you own, but my player does not go into the cable box at all. I have 1 HDMI cable that hooks to the back of the DVD player, and to the side/back of my tv. I believe, however, that you can use the old coaxial cables (cable in and cable out with your tv) to set it up like the older machines. I originally had one hooked up that way. This machine does comes with a good "Quick Setup Guide" that takes you through step-by-step instructions for VARIOUS types of setups, and a good owner's manual too. Hope this helps.
A:AnswerI have been able to hook up my Camcorder to play recordings and burned it onto DVD's using this machine, so I would think that anything that has an output could be used.
A:AnswerIn the USA we have the NTSC system. I know in Europ, Asia and Africa they have the Pal and SECAM systems. I would check and see what you guys have in Australia. This is not a 'multi system' device though. Only NTSC
