- Answer You should be able to record to a DVD as long as you using DVD-R, DVD+RW, or DVD+R. Thanks!

Questiondvd/vcr recorders that let you watcho ne channel while recording another.Is there a vcr/dvd player out there that you can watch one channel while watching another.. We do have a cabel box and are using a vcr right now. W ebught a sanyo recorder but you can only tape a channel with time set and can not watch a diffeent channel.

QuestionHow long should the VCR tape player last? Mine lasted 3 tapes before it wouldn't play anymore... Please help!DVD recorder works well, VCR tape player quit working on the third tape transfer. I took it back to best buy store for exchange, but it was 2 days beyond the return/exchange period, so, great business folks that they are at alexandria, va store, they cited policy and refused to allow return or exchange.

QuestionPlease help -- Can I finalize discs from my old DVR620 with a new one?I have a number of partially recorded DVD's made with this recorder. The recorder seems to be failing after 4 years of steady use. Would i be able to finalize those discs with a new recorder (same model)?

QuestionCable Hook upI don't use a cable box and currently have my cable hooked directly to into my DVD/VHS player and I can record TV. Can you hook up cable directly to this unit without a cable converter box?

- Answer I'm not positive, because I don't know what kind of TV you own, but my player does not go into the cable box at all. I have 1 HDMI cable that hooks to the back of the DVD player, and to the side/back of my tv. I believe, however, that you can use the old coaxial cables (cable in and cable out with your tv) to set it up like the older machines. I originally had one hooked up that way. This machine does comes with a good "Quick Setup Guide" that takes you through step-by-step instructions for VARIOUS types of setups, and a good owner's manual too. Hope this helps.

- Answer Yes but remember, the slower speeds you get inferior reproduction; SP and XP are the best but only allow 2 or one hour, respectively.

- Answer Yes you will need a converter box, this does not have a tuner built in. This should be fine for copying VHS tapes to DVD's.

- Answer no. your cable box is your tuner. all you have to do is connect your cable box to the recorder and then from the recorder to the tv.

- Answer You could put in your own music soundtrack but at the same time it woulld completely obliterate the existing audio so you cannot dub over top.

- Answer In the USA we have the NTSC system. I know in Europ, Asia and Africa they have the Pal and SECAM systems. I would check and see what you guys have in Australia. This is not a 'multi system' device though. Only NTSC
