I am not sure of the maximum size. That info should be on the Dell website. I tried out a 32gb class 10 card using a micro SD adapter and it worked fine, but it stuck out of the computer a quarter of an inch which surprised me. It actually uses a full size SD card but smaller cards can be used with an adapter. You can load apps into the internal memory, but the amount of available internal memory is very small. Someone wanting to bring movies on vacation would want to put the movies on an SD card rather than into internal memory.
