No, the DVD palyer on this model does not play Blu-ray discs.

Of course not. Even high end models don't usually. But you can buy one on-line for $70. Remember you need a blueray player software. No laptop comes with such software installed.

Sorry to say the laptop/notebook doesn't have a DVD drive to play dvd's and bluray movie's. You would have to go and get a external dvd/bluray drive that will plug into your USB to play movie's.
